2008 Lopez de Heredia “Bosconia” Rioja Reserva
Lopez de Heredia is heralded as the most desirable bodega for old school Rioja Alta by wine enthusiasts the world over, and for good resaon. With over 144 years of winemaking tradition and experience under their belt, they are serious about winemaking and Rioja’s sense of place. They produce an incredible spread of white, rosado, and red wines in a variety of unique styles.
‘Bosconia’ is the vineyard site this wine is sourced from, and the blend is made up of 80% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacho, the remainder being a mixture of Graciano and Manzuelo. As is standard practice at Lopez de Heredia, Bosconia is aged longer than deemed necessary to be classified as a Reserva by the D.O. to and thus results in a deliciously developed wine with plenty of gamey, savoury secondary notes alongside plush red fruit, a supple round body and hints of vanilla spice.
