2016 Crab Farm Cabernet Franc, Hawke’s Bay
This richly scented wine has dark red berry aromas combined with concentrated vanilla and carob notes. A lovely rich earthy nose with a lifted floral perfume combined with natural tannins make for a beautiful wine.
The Cabernet Franc grapes are sourced from the Shingle Pit Vineyard located in the Esk Valley. This coastal vineyard demonstrates the maritime influence that the site can express.
The grapes are fermented in open stainless steel fermenters and pumped over. Pressed and transferred to a combination of old and new French oak barriques for malolactic fermentation and maturation
