2015 Unison Selection, Hawke’s Bay
Rich and bold scents of the Cabernet with ripe blackberries and olives, then Merlot with dark plums and brown baking spices of oak. Other wood scents include tobacco, clove and smoke. Complex, enticing and youthful. On the palate – equally youthful with flavours of dark berries and spices. Tannins are youthful too with a coarse chalky texture, medium+ acidity and near full-body power. A wine still on its journey to balance and harmony – so best drinking from 2021 through 2030. Overall a lovely example best enjoyed when in complete harmony. Do decant for service.
